- Question : Has anyone installed this in a backyard wooden fence gate?Answer : Yes. I installed it on our backyard wooden fence gate. I built the gate with a cross member above the door opening to ensure the posts don't move and the space between the latch and receiver remains constant. It's worked beautifully now for over 2 years.
- Question : The external phillips head screws can easily be taken out disassembling the lock. Can these be replaced with security or even hex screws?Answer : There are no external screen/bolt heads.
- Question : Can this be used without the exterior portion? (door is too thick for both)Answer : No
- Question : What is the purpose of x, y, z, and c?Answer : X,y, and z are to allow more variety with your code. C, allows you to clear and enter a code. C must be entered after new code is entered each time.
- Question : If someone locks this behind you can you unlock it from inside?Answer : Yes, just turn the knob.
- Question : The thickness of my gate is 60mm or 2.35 inches. It the locking bolt long enough?Answer : Very likely. Not much thicker though.
- Question : How will this do in the sun and the rain? I will have it exposed to the elements.Answer : Great! I have 3 of these and all of them are on external doors. (Barn style) I highly recommend these for non electronic locking systems.

- Question : Would this still be functional installed on only one side of the door?Answer : Yes, it works. It's different from other things which need to be inserted in the door. But you still have to make a small hole through the door.

It is made for external doors and with its quality material, it can withstand different weather conditions. The lock has been installed on a backyard wooden fence gate which has been working beautifully for over 2 years. The combination codes can contain letters and numbers allowing for extra variety with the user's code and it can be cleared and entered if needed. It is functional with just one side of the door. However, you would need to make a small hole through the door for installation.
