Ortho MAX Malathion Concentrate Insect Spray is a 32-ounce insect spray that is effective in killing bugs in and around homes. The product contains 50% Malathion and 50% other ingredients that work together to exterminate insects. This insecticide is used for outdoor applications and can be applied on ornamentals, trees, citrus, vegetables, and flowers, among others, as specified on the label. It's a strong insecticide that is residual and will last for up to 10 days depending on weather conditions. Customers asked if the product works against bedbugs, to which the answer was yes but only for outdoor use. When applied indoors, it violates current laws in the US. While the label indicates that it is 50% Malathion and 50% other ingredients, customers cannot tell what the other ingredient is. It should work for bugs like bagworms, but customers suggested adding liquid detergent to allow the liquid to penetrate the web better. Ortho MAX Malathion Concentrate Insect Spray arrives in good condition with no spills or leaks, although some customers received the product with stains on the box and leakage of the product. The container design is great, and it's easy to mix with water for spraying. However, it’s lethal to honeybees and can't be used where honeybees may feed. It's also dangerous to butterflies, as suspected by one customer, although they did not try to use it against them.
