  • Question : Can the grids be removed for cleaning?
    Answer : No, the grids cannot be removed for cleaning, but they can be wiped with a damp cloth to prevent staining or buildup. Never take the waffle maker apart for cleaning.
  • Question : What is the recommended heat setting for golden brown waffles?
    Answer : Cuisinart recommends using heat setting #3 for golden brown waffles. If you prefer the waffles to be crisper or darker, increase the browning control to setting #4 or 5.
  • Question : Can baked waffles be frozen?
    Answer : Yes, baked waffles can be frozen. Allow them to cool completely, then place them in a plastic food storage bag with waxed paper in between to keep them separated. Reheat in a toaster or toaster oven when ready to use.
  • Question : So this is a CLASSIC waffle maker, NOT a Belgian waffle maker; correct?
    Answer : This makes a thinner waffle which I prefer. I have never had a problem with the batter pouring out the sides...just don't overfill it. I love this waffle maker.

    Answer : No, it weighs 3 pounds 14 ounces.

    Answer : Yes, you can. Just follow the directions for waffles and add about 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract and 1-1 1/2 Tbs of nonfat dry buttermilk powder to the batter.

    Answer : The instruction booklet only says that the waffle maker has a special non-stick coating. There is no further information about the non-stick surface.

    Answer : Adding 1 Tbs of corn starch to the recipe can help. Toasting the waffles after cooking or placing them on a wire rack in a 175-degree oven also works well.

The Cuisinart Classic Waffle Maker makes thin, crispy waffles that are about half an inch thick. It cooks waffles quickly, taking no more than a minute even on the highest setting. The non-stick coating is effective, but the lid may wobble slightly during use. The plates are not removable, but cleaning is easy with a damp paper towel. This waffle maker is versatile and can be used to make pancakes in the shape of a waffle as well as cookies. However, the construction of the waffle maker is cheap and may not be durable.
