Not only does the tray hold 11 x 17 paper, but the PDF does as well. This is an important detail as not all printers that can print 11 x 17 have an ADF that can take paper that size.

How long does the ink stay viable before it dries up and clogs?

I am using this for business. I've had the copier for almost 90 days and have just replaced the black ink cartridge. It has worked seamlessly so far.

What is the largest scan size possible with this?

11.7 x 19 is what they say in the actual manual from Epson available online. And that is what I've found the limitations to be regardless of which method or software I have scanned with. I see some have said they have scanned larger, but I'd love to learn how they managed it since regardless of method I cannot go wider than 11.7 inches in the resulting scan. The glass is wider than that, and the scanner underneath looks wider than that, but 11.7 wide is what you actually get scanned, the rest is cropped off.

Can you use this printer to print designs for T-shirts?

Yes. I've since converted mine into a sublimation printer

Can you print only black and white (switch to monochrome) if the color ink runs out?

You can choose black and white or color in the print option.

How many copies can you print on ink cartridges?

Too soon to tell. It depends on what you are printing, images, text, photos?
